I was off work today, so I decided to run some errands. When I left the house, I took my camera with me just in case I saw anything neat. I'm glad I did!
Our neighbor is combining his corn. He started it yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately the combine was at the back of the field when I took this picture. I waited around for a bit, but it was taking way too long.
Then I passed a farm and saw farmer cultivating his field. There wasn't a shoulder on that road, so I had to drive down past the field and come back to park in a driveway across the street. If you enlarge the picture, you may be able to see he has his baby in the cab with him. Cute! His wife and kids were at the end of their driveway, and one of the sons was trimming weeds with the string trimmer. Hard working family!
Then I saw this field of hay. I love how hay looks when it's in windrows like this. So pretty.
I parked on the shoulder and waited for the farmer to come around with his tractor and rake. There was quite a big ditch along the road, and the field was a good bit taller than the road, so I had to open my door and stand up in the car to get this picture. The farmer stopped when he got to me. I shouted that I just wanted to get a picture and I pointed to my camera. He laughed and said something I couldn't quite hear (thanks to a passing car). I think he said something like he thought I wanted some hay. He chuckled and went on his way.
Unfortunately I wasn't quite high enough to get a good picture.
I'm glad I live in a place rural enough to see things like this every day.

Busy day in your neck of the woods! I love seeing the little kid in the tractor with his dad. :)
