My Poor Deck

The other day I got home and noticed Theo, my buckling, had managed to escape his pen. I went in the house, and saw he'd followed me up onto the deck. Of course I ran to get the camera!

He decided to follow me...

and he followed me right into the kitchen like he knew where he was going.

Finally he decided to leave. It's a good thing, because Elmer (the dog) freaked out! He ran upstairs.

Between the turkeys knocking over and breaking all my pots, and the goat leaving a nice present (sarcasm), my poor deck looks like a war zone.

This is why i MUST build a good fence before i get goats. I can handle chickens wandering in from time to time, but goats are too much!

He is a cutie though!

We had two weathers growing up, Bertram and Julio. The were both raised in the house and on bottles. If there was any way to open the door and go in they were there. We would find them staning on the dining table, eating anything available and snoozing on the sofa. They were completely happy being house goats. Oh, my mom would laugh and call us to come get them. Love the boys.

That's hilarious that Elmer ran upstairs to hide! Theo is so cute walking around the house. Your poor deck.... the animals consider it part of their house too, don't they? :)

What a darling kid! Are you sure you couldn't train him to be a house-goat?

How cute!! I love how goats are so curious and unflappable! He is real pretty Katie! I had a friend once tell me that if a fence can't hold water, it can't hold a goat!! I think it's true! Love your farm pictures hon! Love you, Momma
