In Memory of Bean

Lambing started off on the wrong foot this year. Bean was pregnant with triplets and I spent an hour trying to untangle the bottle-necked lambs to get them out.  After a very difficult labor (hard on me, but worse for her), I had three dead triplets (DOA) and a ewe with a torn uterus. It was the worst lambing experience I've had, and I hope to never repeat it.

Bean was a character.  How can you not love that face?  My mom dubbed her "Monkey Face" as a lamb, and it fit her.  I'm definitely going to miss her around here.

I'm so sorry, Katie. It's heartbreaking. I hope you never have to go through something like that again.

So sorry to hear this, I know it's always so hard to see our animals suffer.

I haven't been to your blog in awhile. I hate to see this. I'm so sorry you lost her.I will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way for good healthy lambs and mommas.

I will miss my Monkey Faced Bean. There was something about her that I loved from the beginning! I'm sorry you had to go through all of that - and alone too. I can only imagine how horrible that night was for you and poor Bean. You did the very best you could and kept going when it seemed too hard.

Love you hon. Momma
