Are we there yet?

This picture was taken a couple weeks ago.

Every year around this time I start getting antsy. Things are looking so bleak and drab, but the weather is warming up and it just doesn't match. In my mind, if the weather is warm we should have green stuff. You know, like leaves and grass. It's messing me up that we have weather in the near 80's but there's nothing growing yet, besides the daffodils.

I was looking at some pictures from last year, and I love how green everything looks. These pictures were from the end of April.

Look how green! I can't wait for it to green up, and I'm sure the sheep feel the same way.

I know in a few more weeks there will be a noticeable difference, especially if we keep having warm days! I am waiting on the results for my soil sample (from the pasture), so I know whether or not I need to fertilize. I need to maximize my production since we have such a small area.

Wow, what a difference a month makes in how green everything is! The weather has been so crazy this year that I'm afraid of what our summer might be like.
Your animals are so cute :)

I am hoping to get a lot of yard work done today. My lawn is sad looking...neglect does a lawn harm! I think some lime, fertilizer and over seeding will do wonders for it. I am with Katie - enough drab ugly end of winter! I am loving seeing the woods green up! It's like a green haze! Yay Spring!! Love you, Momma

Hi Katie, I just hopped over from Life in a Little Red Farmhouse. Love your blog and can't wait to go exploring! You're doing a lot of the things I dream of doing someday. Right now the only critters we have that produce for us are our layers, but I'm thinking of doing meat chickens this summer. Love for you to pop on over to my blog Life on the Funny Farm sometime to say hi! I'm at http://annesfunnyfarm.blogspot.com.Have a good one....
