Close to My Heart
It's been just over 3 months since we said goodbye to Scooter and I still think about him all the time. I wanted to get a little reminder of him, and I remembered one of my best friends got a necklace when she had to say goodbye to her beloved Great Dane. She got a little charm in the shape of a paw print, and it was actually a little urn. You can put ashes or hair from your pet in it, and then you'll always have them with you (hopefully that doesn't sound too creepy). I mentioned to Jenny one day that I would love to get one of those charms for Scooter, and not long later I got a package in the mail. Jenny surprised me with a charm! I'm so lucky to have great friends. I love the charm, and I love that I think about Scooter when I wear it.

Oh that is so nice! HOw wonderful! I think it is a nice idea and what a great friend you have!
What a lovely way to remember Scooter. It's a beautiful necklace. That was so sweet of Jenny to get it for you.
Since Scout died, I've wondered if anyone who has come over has noticed his "box" on a table in the living room. It will be buried in the yard this spring with a new tree over it. We've not done this for a pet before but we've never lost one like him. Sometimes special pets need and extra special way to be remembered. I'm glad you have one for Scooter.
I think planting a tree in Scout's honor will be wonderful, Kim. I've also got the "box" in my living room, and I plan on planting some peonies over some of Scooter's ashes this spring. Seeing living and thriving plants each year is a great way to honor and remember our special dogs!
So Sweet. Very nice friend. Your charm is really cute.
